Short-Term Running Goals:

Short term, I hope to regain the fitness I have lost over the past few years, and while probably not breaking any of my records above, at least be able to get down in the vicinity of them again.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Maintain a healthy lifestyle, so that I can live a long and happy life.  Also, introduce my daughters to a healthy lifestyle, so that they don't become a number in the obesity epidemic that everyone is talking about.

Personal:

I have been married since 2000, with two beautiful daughters born in 2003 and 2006.

Alright, today is the first day on this blog, and also the first time in 18 months that I am going to truly rededicate myself to running.  My second daughter gets the blame for that one, but now it is time for some me time.

Lunch run of 4.0 at an excruciatingly slow 34:05 today.  Since it is just the first day back, and was 70 degrees out, I planned to run slow anyway, but had been looking for something around 31:00.  However, I got serious sidestitch just under a mile into it, and never could get into a groove.

Hoping for better tomorrow morning.

Welcome to the blog.

Don't push it too hard as you first get into it. If you are stitching this early, even consider a run/walk untill teh body gets use to running.
